Tiny Tiddlers Swim School was founded in September 2003 by Caroline Snelgrove F.I.S.T.C. ASA swimming teacher, ASA Adult & Child teacher and holder of the R.L.S.S. National Rescue Award for Teachers & Coaches.
Tiny Tiddlers specialises in classes for the under fives but also continues to teach children following the ASA National Plan for Teaching Swimming showing a competency in all competitive strokes, usually achieved by the age of eight years old.
Classes are held Tuesday to Friday, refer to term program. There are three terms (of approx 12 weeks) in line with the school terms starting September, January and April but we also have intake February, June and October, if there is enough demand.
Lessons are half an hour long.
The fees are payable by term in advance. Please contact us for our current prices.
There are three main categories of a classes :
Adult & Child classes up to the age of 3.
Small Classes where adults accompany babies or toddlers to offer a one to one experience with their child giving them confidence in the water as a vital pre-swimming experience. Babies learn to submerge happily, to float on their back, to kick their legs to use their arms in the water. Children who have attended baby classes usually do better in swimming lessons and are more confident under the water. You are welcome to watch a class before committing to a term of lessons.
When your baby is confident there will an opportunity to have an underwater photograph taken of them look at www.theunderwaterstudio.net
Preschool classes ages 3 to 4.
Parents do not need to accompany the children in the preschool class as the teacher is in the water with the children.
The classes are grouped by age and ability.
Children learn independence in the water by using various types of Buoyancy aids and by the support of the teacher. Many children are swimming before they start school.
After School classes for children aged 4 to 8 years.
Classes range from beginners up to competant ie non swimmers to swimmers able to swim up to 25m in all major strokes. Refer to programme for more information on the different swimming levels.
